Everything. All sales are final, and 60% off gets you amazing products cheaper than the best sales ever offered in PoserAddicts' history. We thank all of you for being fans of PoserAddicts over the years, for being customers, for being creators of content, for being our friends. This is the end of a wonderful journey, and there is a new adventure on the horizon, but for Daz Studio products at a brand new concept store coming up in the Fall of 2020.Drop by the store and grab what stuff you might be interested in, things you may have wanted for a long time, at ridiculous close-out prices. When our provider shuts down the software - PoserAddicts will be gone forever. We hope everyone stays safe and distanced during the Covid-19 Pandemic, and maybe you can find some cool stuff to render with at PoserAddicts.
Why is this happening?
The reasons are actually beyond our control, the site which was started in 1998, was programmed with a Multi-Vendor store twice in the past 22 years. The first one was phased out around 2005, and was fully reprogrammed with CubeCart 3.0 and heavily modified by multiple programmers around the world. Several of whom have either left programming or have passed away. Until this past year we kept the PHP Version of our servers at PHP 5.6 to allow the software to continue working seamlessly - although it had a few hiccups we could fix. But now, we are at 2020, and the Internet is a more dangerous place - with hackers galore and malware and viruses galore - and our provider informed us that they need to upgrade the servers operating system to PHP 7.x and higher to keep everyone safe.
PoserAddicts was one of the stores which gave new content creators a way to create and sell products to customers and learn their craft. Over 22 years many content creators who joined us and worked with us, have since become top sellers at Daz3D. But they got their starts with PoserAddicts. That being said, over the past few years the Poser Community has been torn apart by software platforms (Daz Studio vs Poser) and by the neglect of Smith-Micro to realize what they had in their hands - an amazing piece of software that just needed to be modernized and updated to be more mainstream, and integrated with current tools out there. Instead, Smith-Micro ignored the Poser program itself, only doing little patches and just throwing in old content from the defunct RuntimeDNA (RDNA) and other stores which have since closed, and offering the program for sale.
The result of this "war" between Poser extremists and Daz Studio enthusiasts caused essentially the end of PoserAddicts as a working, living store, as the Poser creators didn't want to create anything for Daz Studio simultaneously, and the Daz Studio customers didn't want Poser stuff as it did not work well with Daz Studio after Genesis 2 came out, and Daz Studio users were forced to stick with Daz's Generation 4 line of figures; Victoria 4 and Michael 4, and Aiko 4 and Hiro 4 and Kids 4 and Freak 4. Those figures now are antiques, but are still the most beautiful and versatile figures available to work with Poser today - and there is a ton of content for use with those figures of that Generation.
That being said - The Poser Market with all the dismantling of its base locations, RuntimeDNA as it's Forum base, and biggest proponent, and Renderosity still releasing content for V4 and M4, but moving onto the Genesis figure arena and Daz Studio products with Iray compatibility, and Smith-Micro firing developers, dumping Beta Testers, and essentially bankrupting it's Poser division, left PoserAddicts alone with what we'll call "Poser Legacy Content" tons of good and great stuff that works in Poser, for the Generation 3 and Generation 4 figures, and many items which we were given by their creators to keep selling after Renderosity dumped them into Clearance mode. They are legacy because they are not available anywhere else.
PoserAddicts purchased the rights and copyright to a number of items sold at the store, including its FemaSu2011 standalone alien figure bundle which is one of the coolest products we were able to offer the community. Also many prolific creators came and put their products in the store so they would continue to have life for those Poser users who came in after the other Poser stores shut down. RDNA was no more, Renderosity culled tons of Poser content out of their store, and many other Poser related stores including Content Paradise were shut down. Then Smith-Micro, owner of Poser shut down the Poser Division and people speculated what would happen to Poser. Then Bondware, the owners of Renderosity bought Poser in a last ditch effort. It is now theirs.
We had reached out to them to see if we could assist with content, etc, but were pretty much told "no thank you" and that was that.
With no interest in us, PoserAddicts as a Poser Content Legacy Store - and sales dwindling to around 4 a month, most of the admin and managers left us, and only the store was running to allow people to get precious content they could no longer get anywhere else.
Awesome pose sets, props, characters, clothing, figures are all still there, around 5000 plus products, including exclusive clothing from Royloo, Channing, and many others are sitting on the shelves. With the ability now to fit clothing for V4 and M4 to the Genesis 2, Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 figures, with tools from Valzheimer (Wear Them All) and other Auto-Fit options, these products could give new life by getting some texture refits, and being made Iray compatible. A not very complex thing to do.
However, we are not allowed to mention PoserAddicts on the forums at any of the other stores. We tried to let Poser users know about this closing - on Daz within 2 minutes of posting the news - they deleted it.
We posted also the news at Renderosity - again, our posts were deleted. By the company that OWNS POSER and could actually use the items at our store.
This has resulted in us deciding it is not worth rebuilding a new updated store, when no one is really honestly interested in what our store has done, and what it contains, and the wealth of cool items for Poser it houses. So we decided to just go out with a bang, and have a final sale.
Greetings to you all,
